Wrinkle Relaxers

Xeomin

  • This works to achieve muscle relaxation.
  • These Neurotoxins diminish the muscle contraction that results in tissue damage, which appears as wrinkles when not treated as you age.
  • The main goal of these is to soften lines and still maintain natural facial movement. Most common areas to treat are from lines, forehead lines, and crowns feet.

Microneedling

Microneedling helps your body to produce collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin keep your skin smooth and give it a more youthful appearance. It is minimally invasive and a handle held device is used that has thin needles in it. These needles make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. Works great on enlarged pores, fine lines/wrinkles, acne scars and skin discoloration. It is recommended that you do 3-4 treatments 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. This is a procedure that takes less than an hour to complete.

Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a specialized microneedling device to gently perforate skin tissue and trigger increased production of collagen in skin cells. Increased collagen production gradually improves the skin’s volume, elasticity, and firmness, smoothes wrinkles and lines, and imparts a more youthful appearance.

Microneedling is an advanced non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to reduce wrinkles, smoker’s lines, large pores, heal acne, surgical and burn scars as well as rejuvenate and tighten the skin. It can also be used for other conditions such as improving stretch marks, regulating skin pigmentation, and treating sun damage.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling uses a sterile pen-like device, to vertically penetrate the skin with micro-needles. These micro needles penetrate both the dermis and epidermis layers of the skin to create micro wounds and pinpoint bleeding at specific depths. This procedure stimulates the natural healing process of the body, leading to the growth of collagen and elastin which restores the appearance of healthy skin.

Prior to the microneedling procedure, a numbing cream or cooler may be applied at the treatment area to reduce any discomfort. The sterilized one-time-use needles will then be placed over the treatment area to vertically penetrate the skin.

What Is Microneedling Used For?

Microneedling has been deemed safe and effective for improving the following skin conditions:

  • Acne and acne scars
  • Age spots
  • Enlarged pores
  • Hyperpigmentation, discoloration, or uneven skin tone
  • Photodamage
  • Rosacea
  • Scars
  • Wrinkles, lines and creases in the skin

Am I a Good Candidate for Microneedling?

Practically any healthy adult who seeks to improve their facial appearance without spending a lot of money on expensive treatments may be an ideal candidate for microneedling. Microneedling treatments offer a less invasive alternative to surgical procedures and laser skin treatments.

Is Microneedling Painful?

The microneedling procedure is not described as painful, but does produce a tingling “prickly” sensation that some patients may find irritating. The treatment takes only a few minutes to an hour to perform. It may produce temporary redness, soreness, tenderness and swelling in the skin for up to 1-2 hours, similar to the effects of a mild sunburn. Men will have to postpone shaving facial hair for several days following the procedure. While results are immediately visible, you will see increased improvement in the skin’s health and appearance over the next several weeks. This occurs as increased levels of collagen continue to hydrate and nourish skin cells, encouraging luminous, healthy new skin to surface.
